Anti-Aging Vitamins

Show of hands, please… Who wants flawless, wrinkle-free skin?  I can just imagine all hands eagerly raised up.  The question should be, “who doesn’t?”  Each of us would like to look our best – to appear young and carefree with nary a wrinkle or dark spot marring our face.  Well, anti-aging vitamins can help us with this.

Anti-aging vitamins can actually be powerful agents in erasing the years off our faces.  This is particularly true for antioxidants.  You seem, our body is riddled with free radicals.  These may come from normal body processes but may also be obtained by exposure to pollution, cigarette smoke, the sun and a host of other sources.

There are a number of anti-aging vitamins to choose from and we will take a look at some of them.  First, there is Vitamin E, known as the antioxidants of antioxidants.  Vitamin E effectively prevents free radicals from destroying cell membranes and the enzymes associated with them.  Vitamin E does this by rendering the free radicals inactive and unable to do any damage.  What’s more, Vitamin E can also heal skin damaged by the sun.  This powerful antioxidant is present in dairy products, oats, nuts and vegetable oils.  Doctors recommend that we supplement with 400 milligrams of vitamin E.

Another substance that ranks high in anti-aging vitamins would be vitamin C.  This is also extremely helpful in restoring skin that has been damaged by free radicals.  This way, it prevents the aging process from speeding up, as well as preventing the onset of cancer.  The vitamin C that is present in our body is usually depleted because of our exposure to the sun and pollution.  That is why it is important to supplement with this anti-aging vitamin so that it can continue with its work of ridding the body and the skin with free radicals.

Another important anti-aging substance you can try to supplement with is selenium.  Not only is it able to protect from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, it also preserves the elasticity of the skin. You can get selenium from seafood, eggs, garlic, whole grain cereals, and of course, through supplements.

Other vitamins, minerals and amino acids you can look into in your search for anti-aging vitamins would be vitamin B2, lutein, cysteine, coenzyme Q10 and lycopene.  With these and via using other anti aging treatments as well, your skin will enjoy smoother skin and can say goodbye to brown spots and wrinkles.  Mind you, it is best to supplement with these vitamins so that you can effectively supply your skin with the nutrients it needs to be healthy and vibrant.
